Microsoft announced that Windows Vista, the next version of the Windows OS, is set to be released on January 30, 2007.
Lets hope that this is the final date and it does not get delayed again. It is after five years that Microsoft is going to release the next version of its OS. XP was released five years ago.
The minimum requirement for Vista is a 800 MHz processor, 512 MB RAM and a DirectX 9 class graphics card.
To enjoy Vista’s high-end features, a 1.0 GHz processor, 1 GB main memory and an Aero-compatible graphics card with at least 128 MB graphics memory and supporting the new Windows Display Driver Model will be needed.
Nooooo…. My RAM is 256MB and my graphics memory is 64MB. What a bad luck…

I am sure someone will buy it in my friends’ circle dude. Or i’ll get it somehow…. But bad luck, it wont work in my system .those idiots have kept the minimum requirement as 512MB RAM… shit…

Then how does one run all the graphics intensive applications?

I think you can have some of those nice effects with Compiz or Beryl in Linux. You might want to try it if you want

Whatever… I am planning to upgrade my ram to 512MB and then the graphics to 128Mb…
Upgrade your graphics to 256 MB da… not 128… Pravein has 128… and many new games do not run properly on his system he says..
You do not ‘update your graphics’, whatever that means. You buy an AGP card which provides 3D acceleration. The AGP cards with 256 MB DDR memory internally are way too costly.
lets see… i am not going to buy at present.
Forget Marc, if you want pretty stuff for lower requirements then you won’t ignore what I say. Besides even without that, a hardware accelerated desktop is a good idea.
