I bought Discover 135cc in august after my mom’s order that I should not buy Pulsar. Her sister said that its dangerous to drive Pulsar because if we raise the acceleration then the bike will attain high speed that it will cause accident!!!! So I was forced to go for some other bike other than pulsar. I decided to buy discover as it was a good one after pulsar.
I was thinking of getting the black color bike but Bajaj released only two colors in Discover 135cc and they are black with red and black with blue. I went for black with red and the cost was 54,304. The bike is cool and I feel comfortable while driving it. The only problem is that the mileage is less than 55. I thought it will give 55 if I drive below the 60s speed. Well if I take it for a long drive then its giving at the maximum 52 or so and not a km more than that. I am using it for short distances so its giving me in 40s for now.

Your aunt doesn’t seem to realise that the Discover can hit 100 kmph and that itself is deadly in Indian roads.
Well she was being jinxed by others about Pulsar I think
because she didn’t allow her son too to buy Pulsar. So he went for the old and reliable splendor.
After all splendor is a nice one, i would have bought it if i had not gone for Yamaha

…and as marc says, irrespective of the CC, most bikes can travel quite fast. Even my old scooty (60 cc) can touch 60 kmp/h (copied form a traffic board on ECR)

Well Bajaj is better than most of the bikes if you want to go for looks. For performance its for sure hero honda.

Splendor is actually one of the best for Indian roads. The picture’s link you mentioned in the TVS Flame comments is not fit for Indian roads. It will suck in the conditions of our roads and we are talking about Indian roads and not about foreign roads.
