The IPL is the latest target for investors. Mukesh Ambani, Vijay Mallya, SRK, Priety Zinta, Deccan Chronicles, Indian Cements, GMR Holdings and Emerging Media won bids on regions like Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Jaipur, Mohali, Bangalore and Hyderabad. Mumbai got the highest bid from Mukesh Ambani with the bid being made at $111.9 million followed by Vijay Mallya’s bid for Bangalore. Chennai got the bid of just $91. I thought Chennai to get the highest since the IPL Chennai Superstars won the IPL T20 Championship this time and that too the debut cup of IPL.
Investors got interest in IPL after it got overwhelming response from public for the T20 Championship. I think entertainment is losing its grip and money is starting to take control over many forms of sports. Hope no match fixing come in IPL like how it is usual in ICC ODIs.
