Game play
“Upwords” is similar to Scrabble, except that players can stack letters on top of other words to create new words. The higher the stack of letters (up to 5) the more points are scored. This makes words built in later turns of the game often more valuable than earlier words, increasing play intensity. The game is available in about 20 languages.

For example, if the word on the board is CATER, a player on a subsequent turn could put a B and E in front of CATER and then put an L on top of the C and a D on top of the R to build BELATED.

The game’s scoring is well balanced in two ways: (1) players get more points for words if all the letters are on the first board layer, but (2) then they get more points as tiles get higher since you score for the tiles in your word and the tiles “under” your word.

Since Upwords lacks bonus squares like Scrabble, there have to be extra rules to keep people from capitalizing on other people’s words, and the rules do this by disallowing plurals that simply add an S.

Originally, Upwords was played on an 8X8 square board, which many players felt to be cramped relative to Scrabble’s 15X15 grid. Newer Upwords sets come with a 10X10 square board, which allows for much more comfortable play.

Square dancers are prompted or cued through a sequence of steps (square dance choreography) by a square dance caller to the beat of music. The caller leads, but usually does not participate in the dance.

Two types of square dancing
There are two different types of square dance:

* Traditional square dance, which nowadays is frequently presented in alternation with contra dances, and is most prevalent in New England, with Appalachia and the South being close seconds. Another name for a traditional square dance is quadrille, a dance which originated in mid-18th century France, and spread in popularity throughout upper-class England and the rest of Europe.

* Modern Western square dance, which is also called “Western square dance”, “contemporary Western square dance”, or “modern American square dance”. The basis of modern Western square dance was established during the 1930s and 1940s by Lloyd Shaw, who solicited definitions from callers across the country in order to preserve traditional American folk dance. Since the 1970s modern Western square dance has been promoted and standardized by Callerlab, the international association of modern Western square dance callers. Modern Western square dance is sometimes presented in alternation with round dances.

The Promenade Act
The “Promenade Act is a bill before the United States Congress that proposes that Square Dance be designated as the national folk dance, and that defines certain other dances (i.e. round dance, the contra dance, the line dance, the heritage dance, and clogging) as square dance.

Windows XP is pretty much complete for reliability . With Windows XP, the BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH is the biggest issue. The security wasn’t that great. Windows Vista has a much nicer layout and alot more reliability. I noticed the first time I started up Vista, I was impressed by all the animations and ease of use. vista protect me better from viruses better. I recently got attacked by a virus on my XP and it just gave me the blue screen of death everytime I started it however I was able to get back on and remove the viruses using last known configuration and I even have virus protection/firewall!
